Fun Glitter Nails!

So if you guys saw my post and video from my Haulmania, you saw that I got a couple of glitter nail polishes. Well I couldn't wait any longer to try them out and I was trying to think of a fun way to use the multicolored glitter I got. So I decided to just play around and try to make gradient glitter nails! I think they turned out kind of cool, however, I think next time I'll put a cool color underneath to make them pop a little bit more.

After a couple days of wearing them over a little pinkish top coat, I decided to add Essie's Ballet Slippers over the top of them to kind of wash out my nail and the glitter. It almost made it look like I hand painted tiny dots underneath my nails. I thought it was a funky touch to the regular glitter nails after wearing them for a couple of days...and maybe I was just trying to prolong having to attempt to take off the glitter? ;)

What do you guys think??

HAULMANIA!: Shoplately, Sephora, and Target

I just added yet another haul video on my YouTube channel so I thought I'd add detailed pictures of the products swatches and do two comparisons as well. Here's the actual video:

First off all of you should visit Shoplately, which was the first thing I mentioned in my video. This site literally has the coolest and cheapest jewelry ever. I'm really glad I heard someone talking about it on Youtube, here's the fabulous site!: http://shoplately.com/?r=lleewwiiss11

Now one of the products I mentioned in the video above was Make Up Forever's Aqua Cream, The picture below is a swatch of both of them, number 13 being on the top and 15 on the bottom. These are awesome shades and go on like a dream! I'm absolutely obsessed with cream eye shadows.

After I played around with the Aqua Cream colors, I noticed 15 was pretty similar to two other cream shadows I had in my collection. One being Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze and MAC's Constructivist Paint Pot, so I decided to swatch all three of those for you to show you the difference

(Bad To The Bronze on top, Aqua Cream in the middle, and Constructivist on the bottom)

I'd say the Aqua Cream is closer to Bad To The Bronze but it definitely isn't as dark as Constructivist. Out of all three I'd say the Aqua Cream have the best consistency and are the easiest to work with.
Then I ended up also getting my first Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Scenic Route:

The top color is called Breathtaking and the bottom is called Spectacular. The names couldn't have been named any better ;) I usually don't buy any duos, actually, I never have before. I didn't really care for or need Breathtaking but it was Spectacular that I had been lusting after. The color is just so gorgeous, it's like a sparkly army green and they're both SO smooth. Love them!
Now onto the blushes, as always, I usually get a little carried away with blush buying ;) The first one I got from Target was Wet n Wild's Heather Silk. It's SO pigmented and SO cheap, only $2.99! I think it'll be a nice shade for the fall season.

The second blush I got was NARS Lovejoy! I have yet to try this blush and I'm not too sure I'll be keeping it yet because it is kind of dark for my skin tone and expensive but I do like the amount of shimmer in it.

And the last one is my favorite, Laura Mercier's Lush Nectarine. This is the PERFECT summer blush, it has the right amount of peach and shimmer in it and is extremely pigmented. It is a blush must for any skin tone...no..seriously. However, it is kind of pricy, but, I think I'll have this shade for a long time.

And because Sephora is so amazing and has the best deals around, I got a free lip gloss from Anastasia. It's in color Moi and it's part of their Hydrafull Glosses. I'm not sure if it's because it's a deluxe sample but the applicator is just a plastic wand and does not spread the product around at all! But it does smell like vanilla and does leave a nice color on my lips.

Okay, now last swatches of this blog post! My favorite purchase from this haul I think may be the Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Static just because it is absolutely gorgeous. Here's a picture of it alone, but this doesn't do it justice at all.

It has these beautiful purple flecks of glitter in it and when paired with a dark black base underneath, it literally looks breathtaking (no..not the bare minerals color..lol.)

So I realized I have a lot of similar white shimmery purple pigments laying around so I thought I would see which one looked the prettiest over the black.

The Top is one of the products I got from my August's MyGlam Bag, it's S.A.L.T.Y. Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadow in Glama-Zoid! This kind of just came off rather chalky on the black. The next one down is Make Up Forever's Star Powder, I thought for sure this would come off extremely purple, but it actually looks really blue, and gorgeous! Then I used L'Oreal's HIP's Pigment, not sure the color because it's so old it rubbed off :( however, it turned out kind of pretty, not all that impressed. And lastly was the Illamasqua Pure Pigment, which in person, I think is the winner. I highly recommend this one of a kind pigment.

Want to go to the sites I talked about? Here's Shoplately's, again, best jewelry EVER http://shoplately.com/?r=lleewwiiss11
And for Sigma brushes, you get a free gift when you spend over $30, plus you can get 10% off until the end of September if you enter SB2012 at the checkout :) http://www.sigmabeauty.com/?Click=207993

August's MyGlam Bag!

I am so excited for this months MyGlam Bag, yet again! I actually wasn't even planning on making a YouTube video about this months bag because I didn't do one for my Birchbox, but I was so impressed that I had to, which you can watch here:

Anyways if you'd rather read than watch, I got another Andrea's Choice nail polish in Ringmaster. I haven't tried it on my nails yet, but I will do a nail of the week with it very soon, so look for that! I was quite impressed with the white nail polish by her in my last bag, so I'm pretty excited to try this one too!

Then I got two products from Eclos Plant Based Beauty, the first being a Cellular Activator Facial Serum, which you're suppose to use after you've washed your face to help with any aging. I also got a Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream by them, which is also suppose to help with aging. Excited to try these products as well!

I also got a Demeter Roll on Perfume Oil in the scent Clean Skin, which smells just like the name says, like clean skin! It's very fresh and reminds me of Philosophy's Grace perfume.

S.A.L.T.Y. Cosmetics included a Glama-Zoid Mineral Eyeshadow, it is a pretty small container and isn't all that pigmented but it could be a nice color on the lid to add more of a pop to a natural look. And let's be honest, who goes through a whole thing of mineral eyeshadow? I know I have yet to!

And lastly, I got a full sized MyGlam Glam Gloss in 01, it smells AMAZING, like yummy watermelons. The color is pretty sheer when you first apply it but you can definitely work with it to make it more opaque, and it isn't too sticky either! I love it, it's gorgeous.

All in all, I really think some people didn't give MyGlam enough credit when they first started. Yes, I can understand why some were frustrated but now it seems like they've worked out all of the kinks and now they're giving out amazing products for only $10 a month. Pretty impressive. I highly recommend this site and Birchbox, you won't regret it!

What's In My Bag?!

Of course every beauty YouTuber has to do a what's in their (or purse) video, I just uploaded mine, you guys should go check it out!:

I'm really hoping more people subscribe and check out all my posts and videos, I really love makeup and all of the things that come with adding beauty videos on YouTube.

I'm obviously by no means a professional and I do have a full time job, but making videos and adding them are just so relaxing to me. I don't have the best equipment in which to do so, I probably make a ton of spelling errors, and I'm sure I just don't make sense sometimes but I LOVE doing it :)

I literally don't go one day without watching others beauty videos and with that I find lots of new inspirations. And to think, about a couple months ago, I had NO IDEA there was even such a world on YouTube! I just wanted to share that little bit with you guys, even though I only have a couple of followers on here, I'm going to keep trying and trying to get more, and thank you to the couple that I have now, it means the world to me that you read and watch :)

 xoxo, Megs.

August's Birchbox!

WOOOO, it's here again! Is it already that time of the month? Okay, now it sounds like I'm talking about my period, haha. ANYWAYS, YAY!

(Not about the period thing..)

So, the first thing I noticed was the razor by Schick, yes it is kind of random but all of us girls (well...most) always shave, so it's practical, and I loooove the razors with the strips of moisturizer. I will be putting that to use and it came with a coupon attached to the back which I am very interested in.

Then I saw what I think is a full sized product by Pixi Beauty, it's their Lip & Line in the color Bare Berry. It is a very intense dark berry color but I really like the lip liner when used lightly, it really helps to make your lips look a lot fuller, even if you're not going to use the lipstick part. Very impressed with the size of this product because Pixi is not a cheap brand at all!

I got Miss Jessie's Original Stretch Silkening Creme, which you add to damp hair to give you nice curls and shine. I really hope this stuff works because I'm in desperate need of a nice hair curling hair product! My crazy hair is out of control when I let it air dry au natural.

Then for the more sample sized products I got a perfume sample by Juicy Couture called Viva la Juicy La Fleur and another sample by Yu-Be, which was a moisturizing cream that has many uses.

So, all in all impressed yet again, I'm thinking all the people who unsubscribed should really be kicking themselves now, these bags and boxes are always so fun and awesome! What did you guys get???

 xoxo

Green Bay Packer Eyeshadow!

Oh yeah, I love my green and gold. Even though it's still preseason, a couple friends and I went out to watch the game and I decided to play a little with my makeup.

So what I did was add Urban Decay's Midnight Rodeo all over the lid, with a note card underneath the eye because the glitter fall out with this shadow is AWFUL! Then I just slowly added another Urban Decay color called Bender to the outer third of the eye, adding intensity by spraying MAC Fix Plus onto a brush and tapping it into the color. To complete the look, I took a pencil brush and smudged Bender underneath the lower lash line, and voila! You have this wearable Packer chick look! I think it's pretty fun and I can't wait for the Packers to get out there and kick some butt! ;)

Also, my sister Casey is also a little bit too obsessed with the Packers as you can see in the video I added here, I guarantee you, this will make you giggle!:

Nail Color Of The Week!

Okay...sooo, new obsession. I've seen some people talk about this color so I just HAD to get it.

It's POP's Mint Magic. It goes on alright, maybe a solid three coats worth. However, it still chips like most neon's do faster than a regular nail polish color. But for me, this color is just SO gorgeous, it doesn't really matter all that much to me. Best summer color, ever and I haven't seen anything like this before!!

 xoxo.

Most Worn Things TAG!
